About the track Listen and Learn
The song was originally used as a demo track for our Blues Drumming pack (you can hear it by the sound clips on that page). I always liked the track, but I felt it was a bit slow, so we decided to make a new version in 75BPM instead of the original 64BPM.
I left the vocals, drums and Rhodes and re-recorded guitars, bass and most of the keyboards. The drums are MIDI, so no problem raising the tempo there. Vocals are trickier, but flex tempo in Logic worked its magic and I’m quite happy with the result.
The drum sounds are Toontrack Superior Drummer 3. Bass was recorded on a Rickenbacker copy through a Sansamp RB1, and all keyboards are stock Logic sounds.
Also lots of guitar tracks! Mainly strats and telecasters through a Friedman IR-X, a Cali76 compressor and a Halcyon Gold overdrive.

Emelies great voice disappears in the din of the backing track. According to my taste, she’s mixed much too low – I get the impression of a person being pulled down in the sea by a vortex, fighting to get up to the surface.
Kind regards!
