“The Sound of Prozak”
Here at OddGrooves we absolutely LOVE Porcupine Tree, and the song Sound of Muzak is one of our favorites. So, OddGrooves Chief Drummer Magnus Brandell decided to record a version of the song and release it as a free MIDI drum jam, arranged for the following drum samplers:
- Toontrack EZdrummer/Superior Drummer
- Steven Slate Drums 4.0 and 3.5
- Sonic Reality I-Map
- XLN Audio Addictive Drums
- General MIDI
There are 4 MIDI files in this collection. Two 7/4 verses of 10 bars each and two 4/4 choruses of 8 and 16 bars respectively. All are recorded live by pro drummer Magnus Brandell, and as usual no quantization has been applied.
Please Share this Page
You are free to download the MIDI files and use them in your own music productions, all we ask is that you please share this web page with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, link to the page on your blog or post it on whatever social network you use. (Pinterest is pretty cool).
If you like it, please leave a comment and let us know.

HI Guys!! Great free jam again! You did a special jam for me (Yes’ Aim High, Shoot Low) a while back and believe it or not, I have just started mixing that song! Soon as I half happy with it, I will let you hear what I have done. Take Care, JJ
Hey JJ! I would LOVE to hear it. Send me the link and I’ll put it on our Sound Clips page (with your permission of course). //Per
As”per” usual… you guys deliver great grooves! I already did a song with Magnus’ “Prozak” files. I sent to you Per… Thanks for the great work and friendship. — Andy
That’s awesome Andy. For anyone wondering what it might sound like, here’s the link:

I can’t thank you enough for your generosity with these fine grooves. I just downloaded a few free ones and I’m completely blown away by these. Now I have my work cut out for me putting these to use. But finding extremely useful and high quality drumming samples surely facilitates the process of composition and recording like nothing else. Thanks again!
Glad you like the grooves 🙂

Thanks for these prozac file, in 7/4,, I have been looking for a more rockier beat for some music I am composing in 7/8, which uses tamblas, and tamborines and shakers, I will pass you over a copy once I have finished it, it will incorporate sections in 4/4, and 5/8, too, so the 4/4 beats hopefully will fit also.
Fantastic! Gavin Harrison in in my top 5 fave drummers.
Awesome, I am so glad I found this company, so many awesome useful grooves, and they are one of the most generous companies in the world, awesome, stuff. please make a odd signature metal pack. cheers. Ed from North Vancouver, Canada.
