African Drumming
$27.00
OddGrooves African Drumming was influenced by the rhythms of African percussion groups and applied to the drum kit by OddGrooves’ Chief Groove Officer, Magnus Brandell. The African pack is a great choice if you play afro pop or World Music, and this could very well be the best thing that happened to your Paul Simon- or Peter Gabriel-inspired tracks.
None of the grooves are programmed or quantized as we like the raw, organic feel of a live drum performance. Want those programmed, perfectly lined-up grid-ironed, dead-sounding beats in your sequencer? Look elsewhere. Our grooves are living and breathing drum performances that will make your tracks come alive.
- 260 MIDI grooves recorded in six tempos ranging from 100 to 200 BPM
- Recorded LIVE by professional drummer Magnus Brandell
- Longer sequences to fit a chorus or verse
- Shorter sequences for maximun flexibility in your arrangements
- 4/4, 6/4 and 12/8 time signatures
- Not quantized!
- Arranged for Toontrack EZdrummer & Superior Drummer, XLN Audio Addictive Drums, Steven Slate Drums, NI Studio Drummer, NI Abbey Road Series, Logic Drummer, Sonic Reality I-MAP and General MIDI

What a great collection. I needed some rhythms to play along with (and write to) that sounded like the Zimbabwean guitar bands I’m a fan of. Those dancing joyful hi-hats (and the rest) are all there. This is a drum midi file purchase that genuinely made me smile and want to start playing along right away. Highly recommended.

Every time I get a new groove pack from Odd grooves, I’m impressed. The African Drumming collection is no exeption. The 12-8 time signature stuff is of interest to me, as it gives a fresh perspective to shuffle applications.
